New transaction: Sale of Duka Polska

Keystone Advisers acted as adviser to the sellers

Press release 2009.07.01

The acquisition of Duka Poland and the Duka trademark by the family-owned trading house Bergendahls was finalised yesterday. Bergendahls strengthens its position on one of the most dynamic markets in Europe. Besides the 24 stores now acquired the group already operates 10 Glitter stores in the country. Bergendahl Home Deco acquired Granit from CG Duka Retail AB in February. The background for now taking a further step by also acquiring the profitable Duka Poland, as well as the Duka trademark rights globally, excluding the Swedish retail business, is the ambition to become a leading player within home interior design.

- We are always interested in making good deals in line with our business plan. This was such a deal. We like retail concepts that are based on a well-defined assortment and having own strong brands for the products that we sell, says Robert Carlén, CEO of Bergendahl Home Deco. The financial crisis has created opportunities for the family-owned and solid trading house Bergendahls. The group sees opportunities for further acquisitions.

- During the last months we have received several interesting proposals that we are evaluating, says Spiros Mylonopoulos, Group President of Bergendahl & Son.
